Tombstone Tuesday

John Hayne
"Jack" Klinck

Jack Klinck was the second-born child of James Monroe Klinck and Annie Littleton. In 1905, he began by following in his uncle (and namesake) Hayne's footsteps and working for the Memphis Police Department. He held various positions with the MPD until 1918, when he worked as a detective for the attorney general. In about 1922 he hung a shingle (literally, see photo at right) as a justice of the peace. He held the position until his sudden death from a heart attack at age 52.
