What's Your "Middle" Name?

Zack, Isabella, and Sina Ellis

What I know:
This is another from cousin Fred (Dolph) Belton's collection. Unlike many of the other photos in this album, this particular image is inscribed:

Based on the inscription, some research, and correspondence with an Ellis descendant, I believe this to be a photo of Thomas S. (Zack) Ellis, his first wife, Isabella J. Ellis, and their child, Sina E. Ellis. Isabella was born Aug 31, 1836, in AL. Zack was born in about 1820 in NC. They were married in 1854, probably in MS. The 1860 census shows them living with Zack’s parents, Alfred and Elizabeth Ellis in Lowndes County.

Sadly, Isabella died of pneumonia in 1860 at only 23 years of age. Her daughter, Sina, died one year later at age 3.

The mystery is … What does the “J” stand for in Isabella’s middle name? Does is stand for “Johnson?” Is Isabella Emma Johnson Ferrer’s sister and is that why this photograph is included in Emma’s photo album?

Further, does the woman in this photo look like the woman pictured below? It’s from the family photo featured on 13 February 2013.

Do you know who this is?

Special thanks to Jim Wilhite, descendant of Alfred Ellis!
